Cybersecurity Engineering Manager - 72003934

The Cybersecurity Engineering Manager leads the Cybersecurity Engineering section within Florida's Department of Management Services, providing technical leadership and operational oversight for enterprise security tooling supporting Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. The role is responsible for the reliability, availability, integration, and effectiveness of security platforms, telemetry, and data pipelines used for threat detection, analysis, and incident response. The position supervises a team, manages SOC technology modernization initiatives, and balances operational support with strategic engineering improvements. Located in Tallahassee, FL, this is an in-office position.

Key qualifications:

• Enterprise cybersecurity engineering expertise including SIEM, data lakes, SOAR, and detection platforms


• Experience designing, implementing, and tuning SIEM detections and Sigma rules


• Leadership and team supervision experience with demonstrated mentoring and performance management capabilities


• Knowledge of incident response processes and security telemetry sources for threat detection and hunting


• Systems security management practices focused on platform availability, reliability, and resilience


• Experience with cybersecurity and SOC maturity initiatives and modernization concepts
