Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Washington, DC
Everforth ECS Federal is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support a mission-focused federal cybersecurity program in Washington DC. The position is contingent upon contract award. As part of a collaborative cybersecurity environment focused on secure operations, risk reduction, compliance, and mission assurance, you will engineer security controls that protect critical federal infrastructure and mission systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve cybersecurity controls across enterprise systems, networks, applications, and high-security environments.
- Support vulnerability management, role-based access control, firewall and IDS/IPS configuration, patch compliance, and Zero Trust controls.
- Develop secure configuration practices, documentation, remediation plans, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams, system administrators, network engineers, application teams, ISSOs, and program leadership to implement and maintain effective security controls aligned with mission needs and federal requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum 7 years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
- Experience implementing security controls in enterprise or federal environments; Security+ certification required.
Desired Skills
- CISSP, CASP+, CCSP, CEH
- Zero Trust, classified systems, NIST/FISMA/CNSS, cloud security, endpoint security, cyber tool engineering experience.
