Job Duties:
  • The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant performs a variety of advance secretarial duties involved in the daily operation of the county offices. Assists personnel with providing caseworkers services; uses knowledge of operations, programs and general office procedures to make independent decisions concerning processing of information and materials and to establish procedures that would assist Child Welfare Staff.
  • Gathers materials and assists in preparing FCRB packets and invitations letters; gathers materials for ISEDEC staffing's and coordinates meetings for invited parties. Assists with completion of Review board packets, IV-E packets, home studies, and ICPC Packets etc.
  • Provides or arranges transportation to resources in the community as a part of social services aide plan and assists with transportation of the children.
  • Maintains the state car log and is responsible for preparing reports and documents for accidents; responsible for scheduling and facilitating car maintenance; responsible for assignment of state vehicles.
  • Assists with Child and Family Visitations and teaches appropriate parenting and household management skills.
  • Takes and edits minutes of meetings and staffing's; prepares the meeting agenda. Provides Accounting Department with quarterly supply order.
  • Assists case workers with other administrative support functions; receives incoming and outgoing correspondence, screens what can be handled personally, and forwards the remaining documents to necessary child welfare staff. Screens and refers callers appropriately.
  • Maintains and posts programmatic information to logs ( i.e., drug screens, cell phones, camera, time sheets, time studies, mileage, LEP); prepares reoccurring reports; responsible for reviewing each drug screen results and reporting positive results to the assigned caseworker.
  • Assists Child Welfare Staff in uploading data into CAPSS, maintaining case files, and archiving records.
  • Maintains alternative Caregiver Spreadsheet for Region V liaison, ABC vouchers for Case Worker cases; assists with Foster Parent/child Christmas party/gifts.
  • Family Group Counseling - referral data base, Foster care/Joy Days Monthly birthday list, LEP - database.
  • Performs Red Cross shelter duty or emergency shelter duty/services as directed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A High School Diploma or equivalent. Related experience is preferred.
