Job Summary
Memorial Hermann seeks CVOR Surgical Technologists to support perioperative patient care in Greater Houston. The role functions as a scrub assistant for physicians performing operative and/or invasive procedures, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports unit goals, acting as a resource specialist for assigned OR area/specialty service.
- Demonstrates expertise in aseptic technique, advanced surgical techniques, and patient care for elective and emergency cases.
- Verifies supplies, instruments, and equipment availability and applies asepsis principles per surgeon’s preference cards.
- Ensures safe patient care by adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, including budgeting, time management, supply management, and practice accuracy.
- Promotes professional growth through mandatory/continuing education, competency, and mentoring less experienced staff.
- Models compassionate, personalized care aligned with Memorial Hermann service standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
- Certified in Basic Life Support.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- Experience:
- New Graduate: < 1 year.
- Surg Tech I: 1 year.
- Surg Tech II: 2‑4 years.
- Surg Tech III: 5+ years.
