CVICU Intensivist

Northwell Health's South Shore University Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Intensivist to join their Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. This role involves managing pre- and postoperative cardiothoracic patients, complex STEMI/NSTEMI cases, and advanced heart failure in a rapidly growing tertiary hospital. Practice Info

• The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Service line is located at Northwell Health's South Shore University Hospital.
• The hospital is a 415-bed tertiary hospital located 30 miles east of NYC on the south shore of Long Island.
• The CVICU is a brand new 18-bed unit with an additional 4 Stepdown beds.
• The unit is primarily dedicated to managing pre and postoperative cardiothoracic patients, complex STEMI/NSTEMI, and advanced Heart Failure.
• The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery service line performs over 700 cardiac related surgeries per year, including open and robotic procedures, transcatheter based therapies, ECMO, and LV support for high-risk PCI.
• Physicians will be employed as members of Northwell Physician Partners.

Requirements

• Fellowship trained in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery.
• Board Certified in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery.
• Primary board certifications can include Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery.
• Candidates graduating from sub-specialty training will be considered depending upon CTICU experience during fellowship training.
