Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning, minor maintenance, meeting room setup, and event support across Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) facilities and venues to maintain a clean, safe, and guest-ready environment for meetings, festivals, and special events. This position regularly interacts with staff, vendors, and the public and requires professionalism and excellent customer service.
Essential Functions
1. Performs routine custodial and sanitation duties throughout CVB facilities, including cleaning floors, restrooms, kitchen areas, furnishings, and common spaces, and removing trash. 2. Sets up and tears down tables, chairs, partitions, meeting equipment, and basic audio-visual equipment. 3. Assists with in-house catering support and event preparations. 4. Maintains all CVB outdoor fountains, including cleaning and adding water when necessary. 5. Tracks janitorial and facility supplies; notifies supervisor when reordering is necessary. 6. Assists during CVB festivals, programs, and special events, including outdoor events throughout the year. 7. Operates and maintains equipment and tools (e.g., leaf blower, small hand tools) safely and in accordance with procedures. 8. Works flexible schedules including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. 9. Maintains regular and timely attendance. 10. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, supervisors, and facility users. 11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and safely use chemical cleaning agents and compounds. • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, communicate effectively, and provide quality customer service in a hospitality-focused environment. • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and complete assignments in a timely manner. • Ability to use an iPad and perform basic math functions. • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and maintain positive working relationships. • Physical ability to move furniture, set up tables/chairs, remove trash, and perform strenuous physical activity. • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, and moisture. • Self-motivated and dependable with reliable transportation. • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures and properly operate maintenance equipment. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum age of 18. Ability to work weekday, evenings, weekends and some holiday hours as assigned for set-ups and special events. Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check. Must have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy. Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen and functional assessment screening (Level 1).

Regular full-time employees are assigned to work at least 40 hours per week, and are eligible for the City's benefit package, subject to the conditions and limitations of each program.
