Position Overview

As a Customs Entry Writer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring shipments are cleared through U.S. Customs efficiently. You’ll work closely with customers, government agencies, and internal teams to manage documentation, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and submit customs entries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Classify shipments using HTS (experience with cosmetics is a plus)
• Work with OGAs (FDA, USDA, F&W, etc.) to ensure compliance.
• Review and reconcile duty statements
• Familiarity with CargoWise.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve entry-related issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2-5 years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer. Applicants who do not meet this experience requirement should not apply.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• CargoWise experience.
• Strong classification skills and knowledge of customs regulations.
• Familiarity with FDA, USDA, Carnets, and other regulatory agencies.
• A Broker’s License is not required but will be additionally compensated.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player who upholds ALPI’s values.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $70,000-$71,000 per year (based on experience).
