The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive C++ and Python programming skills to design, develop, and optimize high-performance networking solutions for mission-critical environments.What You'll DoDevelop custom software solutions using C++ and PythonDesign and implement scalable networking features that meet performance and reliability requirementsDebug complex protocol processing systems using specialized toolsOptimize existing code bases to improve performance, memory utilization, and overall system efficiencyAnalyze network protocols and develop algorithms for efficient packet processing and routingConduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practicesTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environmentsDocument software architecture, APIs, and system behaviors for knowledge sharing and maintenanceParticipate in design discussions and architecture planning sessions for new networking featuresImplement automated testing frameworks to validate protocol conformance and system reliabilityMonitor system performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimizationMentor junior engineers on protocol processing techniques and control plane architectureResearch emerging networking technologies and protocols to inform future development effortsCreate and maintain technical documentation for complex systems and protocolsWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree and 14 years of experience with software engineering or 19 years of experience in lieu of degreeExperience developing or working with software in a LINUX environmentExperience with C++ and Java programming languagesExperience with the following scripting languages, including Shell, JavaScript, Bash, or PythonBonus Points If You HaveExperience in network programming, including socket development or IP based applicationsExperience with Git Exposure to DockerNeed an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearanceThe pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is:$130,200 - $265,300 USDEqual Employment Opportunity Statement We believe that no one should be discriminated against because of their differences.
