Custom ApplicatorThe Custom Applicator is responsible for accurately and efficiently applying chemicals and fertilizers to customers' fields. This role requires a high level of expertise and experience in operating and maintaining application equipment. The Custom Applicator will be expected to perform other duties as assigned while displaying Norder Supply's core values and fulfilling our purpose of Assisting our Customers in Achieving Maximum Net Return per Acre.AccountabilitiesCustom ApplicationApply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer accuratelyPerform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment as directed by the supervisorTrain and mentor other applicators to ensure best practices and safety standards are upheldOperate all equipment in a safe and responsible mannerComplete spray records and required logs accurately and in a timely mannerFollow company policies and proceduresBe able to read pesticide labels and use appropriate personal protective equipmentShared AccountabilitiesMaintain all aspects of equipment and facilities so that they are in excellent working condition for their respective seasons.

Such equipment may include, but is not limited to: nurse trailers, anhydrous trailers, dry fertilizer equipment, bulk chemical and fertilizer facilities, tending and application equipment, warehouse, office, grounds, vehicles, and all other equipmentDOT RequirementsMaintain all log books, time sheets, CDL license, medical cards, and other paperwork DOT requiresMaintain vehicle and delivery equipment to DOT standardsNotify supervisor of any repairs needed to maintain the equipmentCritical KnowledgeKnowledge of application equipment and precision placement equipmentKnowledge of chemical application proceduresKnowledge of Worker Protection StandardsGeneral maintenance knowledgeCritical SkillsAbility to obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsementsAbility to adapt to different work environmentsAbility to demonstrate a team player attitudeAbility to work long hours during peak periodsDemonstrate basic math skillsAbility to lift 75 poundsCritical ExperienceHigh school diplomaAt least 3 years of experience in equipment operation and basic knowledge of operations involved in production agriculture
