Custodian PositionThe custodian is responsible for the daily care and upkeep of the Head Start Center. Keeps the facility clean and sanitary.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDaily and as necessary, clean and disinfect all bathrooms including fixtures and walls.Replenish all tissue and paper towel dispensers daily.Empty all trash from classrooms, offices, kitchen, etc. daily.Clean all inside windows once a monthClean all outside windows twice during program yearDust mop, wet mop and/or vacuum all floors dailyStrip and/or wax all hard surface floors once per season, or as neededSteam clean all carpet areas once per season or as neededOrder all custodial supplies, with approval of Area DirectorDust and/or remove cobwebs from all vertical and horizontal surfaces weekly.Replace light bulbs as neededAssist with keeping outside Center grounds picked up and free of trashResponsible for minor repairs to facilityAssist with maintenance of facilityOther duties as assigned and appropriate to the positionRequirementsQualificationsHigh School/GED; Able to read and write English; Able to lift 50 lb.; Custodial Experience desirable; Employment physical and TB test; Current First Aid and CPR certification.CompetenciesRespond to group and individual children as appropriateFollow through with responsibilitiesWillingness to seek training and/or assistance to implement improvements when neededAttention to detailOrganization and prioritizationConfidenceCultural competenceProblem solving
