Job Summary
Red Butte Garden & Arboretumis seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our custodial team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests. This role plays a vital part in upholding our standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs and dusts floors.
-
Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, and scrubs walls; dusts, cleans and vacuums furniture, fixtures doors and related furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies.

Operates and maintains electric floor machines, industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing equipment and upholstery shampooing equipment.

Cleans, refinishes and maintains a variety of floor coverings.

Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers.

Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.

Replaces sharp containers, transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes and organizes closets.

Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and level of frequency that may be required
Often: standing, sitting, listening, talking, walking (sometimes on hilly, uneven terrain), driving trams, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Janitor, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
Janitor, III : Requires 3+ years of related experience.

Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, educational, or public setting.
