Housekeeping Staff

Job Description

Madrona Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and efficient housekeeping staff member to maintain a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in school housekeeping. This position requires the ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces, skill in the use of electrical and hand appliances ordinarily used in housekeeping activities, and the physical strength to withstand the strain of performing eight hours of manual tasks.

Qualifications

* Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment in school housekeeping and ability to use them with skill and efficiency.

* Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.

* Skill in the use of electrical and hand appliances ordinarily used in housekeeping activities.

* Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to structures and equipment.

* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

* Physical strength to withstand the strain of performing eight hours of manual tasks.

* High moral standards and character necessary for association with children.

* Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, students, and the general public.

* Preferably six months of experience in work relating to the care of school buildings and grounds.

* Ability to understand, interpret, and follow instructions.

* Ability to use email desired.
