Custodian Position at Gooding Elementary SchoolWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a custodian at Gooding Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
This is a Monday through Friday position, 8 hours a day.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.Ensure that all areas of the school are clean, organized, and well-maintained.Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies.Assist with the setup and cleanup of school events and activities as needed.Monitor and restock supplies in restrooms and other facilities.Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.Collaborate with staff and administration to address specific cleaning requests or concerns.Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing filters.Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks associated with cleaning.Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as proper handling and disposal methods.Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals.Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as necessary for special events or school activities.Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies and regulations.
