Custodian (Amethyst Brook Elementary)

Night Shift Custodian

The Amherst Public School District school system is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of a night shift custodian at Amethyst Brook Elementary. This is a grade B position within the AFSCME bargaining unit with an hourly pay starting range of $18.28-$19.55.

Responsibilities include:

• Shovel and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
• Vacuum classroom carpets daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrub and disinfect bathrooms.
• Keep grounds free from rubbish.
• Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
• Remain on the school grounds during assigned shift hours.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the head custodian.
• Other assigned duties as required to fill job-related needs.

Requirements also include:

• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis.
• Experienced in the use of custodial supplies, tools and accessories, including but not limited to floor scrubber machines, buffers, stripping and waxing equipment, etc.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
• Acceptable National Criminal Background Check, commonly referred to as a fingerprint check.

Position Type: Full-time 3:00PM-11:00PM Positions Available: 1 Starting Salary: $18.28-$19.55 Per Hour
