Overview
The Curriculum Developer supports the development, revision, and sustainment of training curriculum for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) Support Services program. Working as part of the Pensacola-based Curriculum Development Team, this position develops structured, performance-based training products designed to support technical and operational learning requirements. This position will be located in Pensacola, Florida, and will be an in-office position with remote potential.
The ideal candidate combines strong curriculum development and instructional design capabilities with an understanding of structured training environments. Experience developing curriculum for Department of Defense (DoD), military, government, technical, or similarly regulated training programs is highly desirable.
The Curriculum Developer reports to the Deputy Curriculum Manager and collaborates with instructional personnel, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), technical reviewers, Learning Standards personnel, and other program stakeholders throughout the curriculum development lifecycle.
Responsibilities

Develop, revise, and maintain instructor-led and other structured training products in accordance with established instructional systems development (ISD) methodologies, program procedures, customer requirements, and applicable training standards.

Conduct curriculum analysis and development activities throughout the instructional development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, implementation support, evaluation, and curriculum sustainment.

Develop learning objectives, instructional content, lesson materials, instructor guides, student materials, assessments, practical exercises, and other supporting curriculum products.

Analyze technical source material, existing curriculum, policies, procedures, technical publications, and other authoritative references to identify instructional requirements and develop accurate training content.

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex technical, operational, and procedural information into clear, structured, and instructionally sound training materials.

Apply performance-based instructional design principles to ensure curriculum appropriately connects job requirements, learning objectives, instructional content, practice opportunities, and assessment strategies.

Develop and revise knowledge- and performance-based assessments that appropriately measure achievement of established learning objectives.

Participate in front-end analysis and other curriculum analysis activities to identify training requirements, performance gaps, target audiences, instructional needs, and recommended training solutions.

Participate in internal quality assurance reviews and incorporate reviewer feedback to ensure curriculum products meet established quality, technical, instructional, formatting, and documentation requirements.

Maintain configuration control and traceability of curriculum products, source documentation, revisions, and supporting development artifacts throughout the production lifecycle.

Perform curriculum updates and revisions resulting from changes to technical information, customer requirements, policies, procedures, equipment, or operational practices.

Manage assigned curriculum development tasks in accordance with established production schedules, communicate status and potential schedule impacts, and meet assigned milestones and delivery requirements.

Support multiple concurrent curriculum development efforts and adjust priorities as directed by Curriculum Development Team leadership.

Participate in curriculum development meetings, technical reviews, production meetings, and other program activities as required.

Collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed team members and stakeholders supporting CONUS and OCONUS program operations.

Support the development and continuous improvement of curriculum development processes, templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality practices.

Perform other curriculum development, training development, and program support activities as assigned.
Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Experience

Education, formal training, or professional certification in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design/Development (ISD).

Experience developing curriculum or training products within a Department of Defense (DoD), military, government, defense-contractor, technical, or other highly structured training environment.

Knowledge of military training development processes, terminology, organizational structures, technical documentation, and performance-based training principles.
-
Experience developing technical or operational training in collaboration with military personnel, instructors, operators, maintainers, engineers, or other technical Subject Matter Experts.
-
Familiarity with Navy training development processes and applicable NAVEDTRA guidance is highly desirable.

Experience working with formal instructional design models and systematic curriculum development methodologies.

Experience developing instructor-led training materials, performance-based assessments, technical training products, and supporting instructional documentation.

Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical information and translate it into clear, accurate, learner-centered instructional content.

Experience supporting curriculum development projects involving multiple concurrent deliverables, production schedules, formal quality reviews, and customer-driven requirements.

Strong written communication, technical writing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, geographically dispersed curriculum development team.

Candidates with a combination of hands-on experience in military or technical training environments and formal education, certification, or demonstrated professional experience in instructional design or curriculum development will receive strong consideration.
