CTE Computer Science Teacher

Computer Science TeacherHuron High SchoolThe Huron Computer Science (CS) program is designed to engage beginning through advanced CS students, especially traditionally underrepresented groups, through a series of classes that develop computational thinking, digital citizenship, and programming skills. Teacher will be expected to teach CS courses at a variety of levels and to mixed-level classrooms, promote the CS program to Skyline students especially underrepresented groups, work with other CS teachers in Ann Arbor Public Schools on common curriculum and assessments, effectively prepare students for AP tests, and utilize project-based learning as a differentiation tool.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsCommunicate effectively and present information both in oral and in written formREASONING ABILITY:Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsInterpret an extensive variety of statistical information and data related to student achievementOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Interact with public and other staff as requiredApply knowledge of current replicated research and techniques related to sensory issuesThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
