Job Summary

Cat Scan Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross‑section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.

Your role is responsible for solid to expert knowledge of all CT procedures. You will communicate and work independently in performing all CT procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood. You will prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Interpret and follow physician instructions for scans.
  • Administer contrast media as ordered.
  • Position patients and set up equipment.
  • Communicate with patients, medical staff, and colleagues to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Maintain CT equipment and report any malfunctions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 24‑month AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology – Certified by ARRT.
  • ARRT(RT)(CT) certification required and CE compliance.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • 1 year diagnostic experience required; CT experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate.

Shift & Compensation

Position will be weekends: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., with possibility of rotating one day to South Parker ER. Additional $6.25 per hour differential on top of base rate from 7:00 a.m. Friday to end of shift Sunday. $20,000 sign‑on bonus available for candidates not currently employed by HCA HealthONE.
