As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.
The Weekend Flex Program offers an excellent opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance while maintaining licenses and/or registrations. As a CT Technologist on this team, you will work 12 hours and get paid for 16 hours.
A caregiver in this position works nights, 2 12-hour shifts, Saturday and Sunday.
- Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
- Acquire and review patient chart data/requisition to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems/contraindications to the study and verify the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Assure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Perform daily QA.
- Assist with scheduling of patients as needed.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications.
- Perform venipuncture as necessary.
- Maintain all aspects of the CT area to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and state of inspection readiness and compliance (e.g., JCAHO, ODH, etc.).
- Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
- Be knowledgeable in billing via RIS.
- Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
- Cover other modalities, sites and/or locations as needed.
- Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing
- Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within one year of hire: R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)
- Current state licensure (RL), this is required prior to employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
- Can communicate well with Radiologists and Physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and assist with lifting patients of varying weights and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $33.50
Maximum hourly: $48.50
