Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures to acquire digital images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Plan and perform all CT procedures and post‑processing using advanced technology, based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and established protocols.
- Operate CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire high‑quality images.
- Maintain protocols based on Image Gently guidelines and CT scanner integration into dose‑monitoring programs.
- Ensure patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and protective shielding as applicable.
- Obtain and review laboratory results and pharmacologic data prior to exams.
- Interpret technical factors to improve image quality or scan speed, and to lower patient dose.
- Perform CT interventional and CTA imaging procedures (carotid, head, vertebral, run‑offs, pulmonary embolism, advanced CTA studies such as TAVR, EVAR, cardiac imaging).
- Maintain knowledge of major organ systems and vascular systems across thoracic, abdominal, pelvic, neuro, and musculoskeletal systems.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (required).
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple CT system platforms at various locations.
- Strong understanding of dose‑monitoring and Image Gently guidelines.
- Excellent technical knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and advanced CT physics.
- Ability to master new technology rapidly and work under general supervision of a radiologist.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support Certification (BSL).
- Certified Radiology Technologist within 12 months (ARRT).
