nAs a CT Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:

Maintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job

Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images.
n n - n
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
n n - n
Performs exams per department protocol.
n n - n
Reviews and evaluates images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.
n n - n
Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.
n n - n
Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
n n - n
Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns.
n n - n
Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
n n - n
Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
n n - n
Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.

Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC program and reporting any equipment failures or problems.

As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers contrast media to patients per protocol and provides education to patients regarding safety concerns inherent to contrast administration.

Stays updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities

Assists and instructs students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

nDemonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocols relating to contrast administration, including contrast injector operation as applicable.
nDemonstrates understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging including ability to view, transfer and manipulate images.

Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT)

1-2 years of CT experience

1-2 years experience in a healthcare setting

For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy License
n n
• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
n• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
n• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
n• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
n• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
n• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
n• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
