Job DescriptionThe Memorial Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and medical imaging and related procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.ResponsibilitiesProvides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes Prepares patient to best demonstrate an anatomical area of interest, respecting the patient's ability and comfortProperly determines exposure techniques and factorsMaximizes productivity and efficiency within national benchmarksPerforms CT imaging using appropriate protocols established by the medical directorMaintains quality control and quality assurance Corroborates and documents patient's clinical history with procedureApplies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to the patient, self, and othersMaintains archival storage of digitized data, as appropriateMaintains all equipment in proper working order and reports any malfunctionEvaluates images for technical quality and assures proper patient identification and positioning; ensures all required documentation is recordedCommunicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider Provides accurate and timely documentation in patient care records per policy and standard proceduresCommunicates variances and/or significant events to appropriate healthcare provider according to guidelinesParticipates in team conferences and/or care coordination activitiesQualificationsEducation:Vocational/Technical DiplomaGraduate of a radiographic program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA)Experience:1Performing the role of computed tomographySkills:Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach
