CT Technologist (Temporary) - CT Scan - Variable - PT0

Job Description

The Memorial Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and medical imaging and related procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes
  • Prepares patient to best demonstrate an anatomical area of interest, respecting the patient's ability and comfort
  • Properly determines exposure techniques and factors
  • Maximizes productivity and efficiency within national benchmarks
  • Performs CT imaging using appropriate protocols established by the medical director
• Maintains quality control and quality assurance
  • Corroborates and documents patient's clinical history with procedure
  • Applies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to the patient, self, and others
  • Maintains archival storage of digitized data, as appropriate
  • Maintains all equipment in proper working order and reports any malfunction
  • Evaluates images for technical quality and assures proper patient identification and positioning; ensures all required documentation is recorded
• Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation in patient care records per policy and standard procedures
  • Communicates variances and/or significant events to appropriate healthcare provider according to guidelines
  • Participates in team conferences and/or care coordination activities

Qualifications

Education:

• Vocational/Technical Diploma
• Graduate of a radiographic program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA)

• 1
• Performing the role of computed tomography

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach
