Eligible: $30,000 (3 year commitment).
General Overview
This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently carries out a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.
Essential Responsibilities
- Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s) independently. Analyze results, identify quality issues, and take appropriate actions including repositioning or repeating procedures. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. (40%)
- Review patient history and physician's orders. Educate the patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
- When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate. (20%)
- Prepare equipment and supplies. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography (R) or NMTCB registered (CNMT) required at time of hire.
- Within 18 months of hire, obtain one of the following certifications (or maintain active certification if already held):
- Computed Tomography (CT) certified OR
- NMTCB registered (CT) certification
- For employees already in a CT role prior to July 1, 2022: CT certification is not required if not already held; existing CT certifications must be maintained.
- CPR – American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred
- Prior experience working as a CT Technologist.
