The CT Technologist performs CT examinations according to physician orders using sophisticated CT equipment while applying appropriate imaging techniques and clinical judgment.
The technologist is responsible for producing optimal diagnostic images while considering each patient's individual, special, and age-related needs. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, patient-care ability, and adherence to applicable imaging and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform CT examinations according to physicians' orders.
Operate sophisticated CT imaging equipment safely and effectively.
Apply appropriate imaging factors and techniques to produce optimal diagnostic images.
Use clinical knowledge and judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on patient needs.
Consider individual, special, and age-related patient requirements during examinations.
Provide patient-focused care throughout the imaging process.
Follow established clinical, safety, quality, and departmental procedures.
Maintain appropriate documentation associated with CT examinations.
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and members of the healthcare team.
Support a culture of whole-person care, patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Education: Education sufficient to meet applicable certification, licensing, and registration requirements.
Licenses & Certifications
Required upon hire:
Oregon Medical Imaging License from the Oregon State Board
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
One of the following:
ARRT - National Registered Technologist - Radiography , OR
National Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology
Required within 1 year of hire:
One of the following:
ARRT - National Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography , OR
NMTCB - National Computed Tomography Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification
