Shift Availability
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours. Availability to work nights from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM is needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages.
- Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
- Acquire patient chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set‑up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
- Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Assure patient’s safety and comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform VNA punctures as necessary.
- Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
- Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
- Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
- Maintain available equipment up‑time at the highest level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
- Computed Tomography (CT) Certification (R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)) within one year of hire.
- Current state licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
Physical Requirements
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $42.00
Maximum hourly: $42.00
