Experience and Education

Required

  • Education
    Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduate from an AMA approved school
  • Licenses and Certifications
    (ARRT‑CT) Registered Technical Specialist in Computed Tomography upon hire, Texas Medical Board licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist upon hire, Basic Life Support certification accredited by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross by first day of employment

Job Duties

  • Review physician orders, screen patients for contrast allergies, consult with radiologists, and document changes in the electronic health record.
  • Interview patients, obtain medical history, explain procedures, administer contrast, monitor for adverse reactions, assist physicians, and ensure proper documentation and labeling.
  • Perform quality control testing, report issues, and collaborate with service engineer/biomed, physicist, and imaging leadership.
  • Maintain QA compliance with ACR requirements and accreditation imaging requirements; capable of lifting 40–50 lbs.
  • Respond to inquiries promptly, use PACT and AIDET communication behaviors, and participate in code and rapid response events.
  • Provide orientation and training for new hires and students.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively with other service lines.
  • Prioritize exams to ensure smooth workflow and address stat requests.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, regulations, infection control, education, metrics, and fiscal responsibility regarding equipment, supplies, scheduling, and overtime.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) in all processes.
