Job Summary
Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform CT and molecular imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, interpretation, and interventional procedures, and document activities in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Job Duties
- Ensure the correct order is obtained, verify patient identity, and document clinical history while respecting confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and quality of care.
- Prepare and administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Evaluate image positioning and technical quality, verify archival storage and transfer of data, and perform post‑processing as needed.
- Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
- Assist a licensed practitioner with interventional CT procedures.
- Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Position Details
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) required upon hire.
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB before first day of employment.
- Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to Level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months of hire.
Education
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Preferred).
Experience
- Minimum of one year related work experience (Preferred).
