Radiologic TechnologistPerform diagnostic, surgical, and portable imaging procedures while providing safe, compassionate care and ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role prepares and educates patients, operates imaging equipment, administers contrast when needed, supports patient safety throughout procedures, and serves as a resource for students and team members.Schedule: 12 hour shifts, third shift Shift: 6pm-6am Location: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center—Janesville, Janesville, WI Pay Range: $33.78 - $50.67Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms diagnostic CT procedures.If assigned radiographer job duties, also performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical and portable radiographic exams.Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary.Practices aseptic technique as necessary,Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access.Initiates basic life support action when necessary.Provides patient education.Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.Provides practical instruction for students and partners.Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited radiography programRadiographer experience preferredCT experience preferredCertification and LicensureARRT Radiography registration requiredARRT Computed Tomography registration required (or must be obtained within two years of hire)IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in IllinoisWI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in WisconsinApproved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days of hireSkills and Abilities Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
