CT Technologist (Outpatient), Full-time, Day shift

Job Description

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a county designated trauma center. Located in San Luis Obispo, the hospital offers a vibrant community within a fifteen‑minute drive of Avila Beach and Pismo Beach.

Job Summary

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross‑sectional images of patients’ bones, organs, and tissue used to diagnose medical conditions in an outpatient setting. Performs additional imaging procedures such as bone densitometry, general radiography, and fluoroscopy.

Job Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses / Certifications

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(ARRT) – Required
• State certification in Radiologic Technology – Required in California
• Advanced certification in CT modality – Required in OR and HI, Preferred in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment – Required in California (if operating fluoroscopy equipment)
• Venipuncture certification – Preferred in California and Oregon

Facility Specific License / Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required

Essential Functions

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients ranging from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produce sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Utilize PACS and teleradiology systems to accurately transfer images.
• Maintain accurate records, file, and billing information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manage supply inventory.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
