Description

Job Summary: To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of a computed tomography (CT) scanner for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks

  • Practices proper entries and records on the imaging system and radiology information system.
  • Prepares patient for CT procedure by accurately assessing patient's needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum)
  • Operates computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Prepares patients films for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Practices safety measures in CT and Environment of Care.
  • Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Performs all duties in which individual is licensed to perform under ARRT guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Supervision

  • Reports To: Site Administrator

Required Education / Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT registered.
  • One year CT experience or graduate of CT training program with minimum of 500 clinical hours of CT training.
  • CT Certification

Equipment

  • Standard CT Equipment
  • Office equipment.

Working Environment

  • Standard Outpatient Center. Or Mobile Unit
  • Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
