Liberty Hospital (various health system locations).
Position Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for producing cross‑sectional images to diagnose disease processes. Technologists perform procedures at various health system locations and are expected to participate in ongoing training and education.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison for communication between departments and assist when called upon for approved special projects.
- Assist with developing continuing education strategies for the CT Department.
- Participate in providing teaching and learning opportunities to fellow technologists and students.
- Ensure all staff operate equipment optimally and safely by adhering to policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Operate CT scanners and auxiliary devices within designated locations, ensuring safety and optimal radiation dose.
- Maintain an organized patient flow, coordinate examinations efficiently, and minimize patient stay.
- Respond immediately to contrast reactions and patient needs with excellent knowledge of contrast reactions.
- Complete mandatory educational assignments as provided by supervisor/senior supervisor.
- Perform routine CT procedures to a high standard, progressively mastering specialty studies.
- Set equipment parameters, provide patient assessment and education, and perform venous access for contrast administration.

- Other duties may be assigned as required, performing professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from accredited college/university.
- Experience performing basic CT procedures.
- 1+ years of large facility experience.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Computed Tomography (CT) – ARRT within 180 days.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) – State Board of Healing Arts for Kansas locations, within 90 days.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Radiography (R) – ARRT; Radiography ARRT required to apply for Computed Tomography (CT) – ARRT.
Knowledge Requirements
Advanced computer skills related to RIS, PACS, EMR.
