nImaging - Computed Tomography Technologist - CT Technologist
nFULL TIME - 2ND SHIFT- HAMBURG
nWhile Radiology and Ultrasound are both imaging departments within the hospital, they utilize different technologies and serve distinct diagnostic purposes. The Radiology department encompasses a broad range of imaging techniques that use different forms of radiation or electromagnetic waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. nJob Description:
nPerform CAT scan examinations on patients in age from birth to death. Coordinates patient flow as well as other activities involving the CT scanner. Supervises the operation of the CT scan room as well as providing direction for other personnel assigned to that area. CT Technologist works under the direction of the Director as well as the Vice President of Ancillary Personnel.
nPerforms and administers contrast material for examinations.
nOperates and prepares CT equipment in safe and correct manner.
nMust participate in CQI activities and provide input for improvement.
nAssists physicians with procedures.
nAssists patients during examinations and biopsies.
nCommunicates with nurses and physicians regarding patient care, provides directions to staff and patients. Maintains good repose with staff, physicians and patients.
nReplenishes supplies in the CT area.
nPerforms necessary record keeping for procedures, which includes but is not limited to backing up exams, obtaining history sheets, and charging exam.
nCleans and maintains equipment.
nWill transport patients, when necessary, assures proper patient identification by utilizing 2 identifier method.
nTakes night and weekend call.
nIs familiar and utilizes all radiation reducing measures. This includes utilizing the pediatric technique supplied on the machine when applicable.
nComplies with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.
nMust pass initial competency test and year competency testing thereafter.
nEssential Qualifications:
nGraduation from accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
nRegistration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
nMust have current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
nCT experience and CT registry preferred.
nBLS Required.
