Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech)
Compensation: $31 to $45 depending on years of experience
The CT Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic CT imaging procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. This role includes preparing and positioning patients, operating CT equipment, administering IV/oral contrast, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. The technologist uses independent judgment, technical expertise, and compassion to deliver accurate diagnostic images that guide patient care.
Responsibilities
- Explain CT procedures clearly and compassionately to patients of all ages
- Position patients appropriately to capture precise diagnostic images
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment, reporting malfunctions as needed
- Administer intravenous/oral contrast safely according to protocols
- Assist Radiologists with image-guided procedures, maintaining sterile technique
- Review patient history, consents, and labs to ensure safe imaging practices
- Accurately label and document images and pertinent clinical information
- Move patients safely on/off tables, stretchers, or wheelchairs as needed
- Provide support for CT services on a 24/7 coverage rotation as required
Requirements
- Associate degree and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin
- ARRT registered in Radiography (required)
- ARRT registered in CT (preferred, or required within 1 year of hire)
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Basic computer proficiency
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire)
Pay range: $31.50–$48.00/hour (based on experience)
