Overview

Under the direction of a radiologist, the CT Technologist performs diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using prescribed ionizing radiation. The technologist works independently, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to departmental protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for CT examinations.
• Enter and verify patient data in Epic.
• Select appropriate CT protocols and obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Assist with CT-guided procedures and operate contrast injectors as needed.
• Place IV lines and prepares contrast.
• Process, label, and present images for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain accurate procedural documentation.
• Follow radiation safety and infection control standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of CT work areas.
• Train students or staff as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (CT preferred/required per policy).
• Experience with CT systems and Epic preferred.
• Must meet Occupational Health requirements.
