CT TechnologistAs a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. Check out this video and learn more and discover the "Power of We."As a CT Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:Maintaining American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.Ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and preparing the patient for the exam.Performing exams per department protocol and reviewing images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.Adhering to radiation safety guidelines and maintaining a safe working environment.Completing studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.Assisting and instructing students and other CT Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.Providing appropriate patient education, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing concerns.Practicing appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.Understanding and operating CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.Keeping accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.Following protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.Skills:Anatomy KnowledgeImage EvaluationEquipment OperationContrast protocolsEmergency responseIndependent workTeamworkEffective communicationElectronic imagingTask prioritizationClean environmentMinimum Qualifications:Licenses and Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(RT)(R) Radiography Certification/RegistrationRelevant State licensure (where required)Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providersPreferred Qualifications:Licenses and Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(RT)(CT)(Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module(Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation moduleSpecific facility-based certifications may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility would define and manage compliance.Experience 1+ years CT experienceMinimum Qualifications Specialty Tech in Training ($32.34 - 49.94/hr)Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.Applicable State LicenseAn American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) technologist who is currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited training program or successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school or a licensed American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) technologist who has been selected to cross-train in another modality.Preferred Qualifications:1-2 years customer service or patient care experienceIV CertificationPhysical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
