Here's What You Need
nEducation

- n Other Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required Ornn n
- n Associate's Degree preferrednn n
- n Other- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency requirednn n
Experience
n- n
- n 1 year radiologic technician experience w/out ARRT-CT required ornn n
- n no experience w/ARRT-CT requirednn n
- n CT tech with at least 1 year experience is preferrednn n
Licenses and Certifications

- n ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R upon hire required Andnn n
- n ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/no radiology technician exp) upon hire required Ornn n
- n ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/1 year radiology technician exp) 12 months required Andnn n
- n CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required Andnn n
- n BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly requirednn n
What You Will Do
nImaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
n- n
- n Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to examnn n
- n Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interestnn n
- n Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerationsnn n
- n Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factorsnn n
- n Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic techniquenn n
- n Maintains attention to detailsnn n
- n Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed 8. Utilizes proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RISnn n
- n Correctly sends and transfers images to PACSnn n
- n Prints laser images from modality or PACSnn n
- n Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalitiesnn n
Patient Care
n- n
- n Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actionsnn n
- n Assesses and recognizes the patient's emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditionsnn n
- n Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)nn n
- n Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out proceduresnn n
- n Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of IDnn n
- n Obtains patient historynn n
- n Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imagingnn n
- n Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipmentnn n
- n Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patientnn n
- n Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelinesnn n
- n Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needednn n
- n Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departmentsnn n
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
