Job DetailsJob Location: Main 499 - Floresville, TX 78114Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: MidJob Category: Health CareSummary Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist.
• Administers contrast media orally or intravenously as ordered by physician/radiologist.
• Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer.
• Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient.
• Talks to patient over intercom system and observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Views images of organs or tissue on CT monitor display screen to ensure quality of images.
• Performs CT image post-processing to include MIPPING and mutiplanar reconstruction.
• Evaluates images (studies) for completeness and optimal technical quality.
• Ensures procedure charges, to include supplies used, are entered correctly and in a timely manner in the Meditech HIS and RIS.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one year related experience to be proficient.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A.R.R.T registered in CT and TDSHS MRT state license required.
