Job Summary
The technologist conducts procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of CT scans assessment and reassessment and implementation of the patient's orders in accordance with the department and organizational standards and policies
- Completes patient documentation specific to CT scans
- Assist Physicians and Radiologist during procedures.
- Performs CT scans in a timely and efficient manner.
- Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
- Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed
- Performs all computer and PACS functions
- Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
- Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality procedures
- Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
Education / Skills
Technical degree or vocational training
Experience
Prefer at least 1 year of CT experience
Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications
- ARRT(R) or ARRT (N)(CT)
- MRT
- BLS obtained by HCA approved vendor.
Specific Requirements
Must be able to be on an on-call status and respond within thirty (30) minutes of notification.
Must be able to work at the main facility, Saginaw FSED, and Haslet FSED, depending on department needs.
