Summary
The CT Technologist performs routine, emergent, cardiac, and interventional CT procedures adhering to department protocols on patients of all ages; practices safe radiation dosing for patients including image gently and insure all required QA is completed; maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and emergent CT examinations including obtaining and documenting pertinent patient history, explaining the procedures to the patient, answering the patient's questions, and gaining the patient's written consent.
- Performs cardiac and CT interventional procedures.
- Uses safe radiation practices according to ARRA regulations and licensing restrictions while using "common sense" approaches to everyday issues, such as reducing dose exposures to neonatal and adolescent patients.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Credentials
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
- COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT)
- COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST (CTCT)
Education
- ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE
- Associates Degree or Graduate of qualifying Program (AMA, JCERT, etc.)
