CT Technologist Responsibilities

• This position requires you to work between the x‑ray and CT department
• Always ask for at least two forms of identification (name, DOB)
• Start IVs on all CT patients that are receiving contrast dye
• Instruct patients to assume appropriate positions for accurate images
• Keep radiographic equipment in quality working order
• Obtain images for any areas requested by the physician or radiologist
• Use radiation on the patient if necessary
• Keep track of patient records
• Assist radiologists and physicians in understanding and evaluating the images
• Prevent exposure to certain areas of the patient's body to avoid unnecessary radiation
• Communicate and prepare patients, removing garments or jewelry that may interfere, and explain the process
• Position patients properly to obtain x‑rays and CT scans
• Set equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged
• Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to aid diagnosis
• Follow physician instructions closely, prepare equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal images
• Communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all patient types, including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped
• Apply HIPAA to every patient interaction
• Add reports to the patient chart after the radiologist has read the images and the report has been dictated
• Check each patient's order before scanning; if there are questions, ask the ordering physician
• Check patient's creatinine/GFR
• Remind patients of diabetic medication (do not take it)
• Ensure patients fill out consent before exam

Required Qualifications

• Must be trained in an accredited program, be ARRT certified, and hold a South Carolina license
• Certification as a radiologic technologist from an accredited institution
• Registered with the ARRT
• South Carolina state license
• Will hire new graduates based on clinical hours

Preferred Qualification

• 1+ years of experience

Benefits and Compensation

Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $29 to $52 per hour based on full‑time employment. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
