Job Summary And Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs computerized tomography diagnostic procedures as outlined by the radiologist. The technologist operates diagnostic equipment, verifies images, and prepares the room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. They are responsible for ensuring that proper diagnostic information is provided through the production of high-quality CT scans. Other duties include clerical work, scheduling, diagnostic imaging, transportation, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and tasks deemed necessary by the medical imaging management team. The position may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor, requiring the employee to have appropriate licensure or completed training if supervising a student.

Position Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: ARRT required upon hire
  • SCRQSA required upon hire
  • BLS – Healthcare provider on hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • CT registry preferred, but not required, within six months of departmental orientation completion date, at which point SCRQSA ARRT will be obtained

Education

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and/or ARRT / CNMT
