Role Overview:
The CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT procedures using ionizing radiation, ensuring high-quality imaging through technical expertise and independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CT equipment and related systems to produce accurate images
- Prepare patients, verify orders, and ensure proper identification
- Assess image quality and adherence to safety protocols
- Educate and comfort patients, addressing concerns
- Follow infection control and documentation standards
- Administer contrast media safely under supervision
- Maintain equipment, stay updated on technological advancements, and assist/trains colleagues and students
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-2 years of healthcare experience, preferably in CT
- Proficiency in sectional anatomy, positioning, and imaging protocols
- Knowledge of contrast administration and electronic imaging
- Effective communication, teamwork, and task prioritization skills
- Valid ARRT certification (R) and state licensure; BLS required
- Physical ability to assist patients and operate equipment
