Job Summary and Qualifications
Cat Scan Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross‑section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for diagnosis. A CT Technologist must accurately interpret physicians’ scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT equipment, and position patients for appropriate images.
Your role responsibilities include:
- Solid to expert knowledge of all CT procedures.
- Communicate and work independently in performing all CT procedures for patients ranging from newborn to late adulthood.
- Use CT equipment to capture images from different angles.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedure by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors.
- Reflect genuine concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees.
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of a 24‑month AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology, Certified by ARRT.
- ARRT(RT)(CT) certification required; CE compliance and current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of diagnostic experience; CT experience preferred.
- Solid to expert knowledge of all CT procedures.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Associate degree or certificate.
