Position Summary

As a CT Technologist, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality imaging services while assisting radiologists in both routine and specialized procedures.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform computerized tomography (CT) scans as ordered by physicians.
• Prepare, calibrate, and operate advanced diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Assist radiologists during diagnostic and special procedure studies.
• Monitor patient vitals and anticipate physician needs during exams.
• Administer or assist with contrast media under the direction of the radiologist.
• Ensure cleanliness and readiness of procedure rooms and equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and manage supplies.
• Support training for student technologists and non-professional staff.
• Provide imaging services across hospital areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification:
  • ARRT (R) required upon hire.
  • ARRT CT certification within 15 months of hire.
  • ARRT (NM) or NMTCB technologists must also complete ARRT CT certification within 15 months.
  • Advanced CT certification attempted by 12 months and completed within 15 months of hire.
• Other Requirements:
  • BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer competency for departmental recordkeeping and imaging software.

Working Conditions

• Regular standing, walking, and lifting (up to 20 lbs) with occasional heavier tasks (assisting in moving patients/equipment).
• Frequent use of computer systems (40–70% of the time).
• Requires sustained concentration, multitasking, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Must follow aseptic techniques and proper equipment care to prevent contamination.
• Ability to work variable shifts and extended hours when needed.
