About the Position

Position: CT Technologist
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Full time
Up to $5,000 relocation reimbursement for eligible candidates. Plus a $15,000 sign‑on bonus and new higher rates.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the CT Manager, the CT Technologist utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. They work with cutting‑edge technology and a collaborative team to support BMC’s mission of providing exceptional care for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Operates a CT scanner to perform required studies for patients of all ages in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Ensures the study requisition matches patient identification, condition, and history; obtains additional information when necessary.
• Prepares patients for exams, ensuring comfort, modesty, and safety at all times.
• Accommodates patient and staffing needs through flexible scheduling and timely completion of studies.
• Monitors patients’ conditions and takes action to facilitate appropriate care, including nurse involvement and further monitoring as required.
• Sets up equipment, uses proper imaging techniques, and adjusts imaging factors to improve study quality.
• Provides necessary images to the radiologist, including additional views and variations requested.
• Completes procedures promptly while maintaining quality image provision for Radiology and other departments.
• Communicates with coworkers about work needing completion at shift end or prior.
• Provides patient‑focused customer service, addressing complaints professionally and maintaining patient privacy.
• Handles telephone calls and service requests professionally and appropriately.
• Treats patients and staff with dignity and respect, reporting any problems to the supervisor.
• Ensures all required documentation is properly completed for billing, including electronic orders and paperwork related to procedures performed.
• Adheres to managed care guidelines for appropriate recording of radiology procedures for billing.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology; CT Specialty required or obtained within one year of employment.
• BLS or CPR certification required.
• IV certification required.

Working Hours and Compensation

40 hr Sun.–Thurs., 3p‑11:30p
Compensation Range: $48.90–$62.03 per hour (range based on minimum qualifications).

The CAT scan department at BMC is a full‑service, academic medical imaging department for both adult and pediatric patients. Utilizing the most sophisticated medical imaging technology, licensed technologists ensure delivery of exceptional and equitable care to all.
