CT/X-Ray TechnologistThe CT/X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by radiologist governing and professional bodies. Essential functions include producing emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray, routine and emergent diagnostic images with CT Room, adjusting exposure settings for proper image acquisition, and adjusting patient positioning to acquire the best images based on anatomical structures. The technologist also adjusts table and radiation beam to minimize radiation exposure to maximum patient protection (ALARA).

They process images in PACS for the Radiologist, complete exams per Radiologist protocols, document, charge, and process with electronic medical records, schedule patients for appointments in X-ray, CT, MRI, US, DXA, and Holter Monitor, inform and assist patients with contrast media administration for CT exams, and are involved with quality control concerning equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety. The technologist ensures that exams are completed in timely and correct manner and provides customer service to patients and staff.Minimum qualifications include required credential R.T.(R)(ARRT) and preferred experience of 1 year working as a CT technologist. Technical skills demonstrate an adequate working knowledge of and clinical proficiency in radiographic procedures, principles of radiation physics, and human anatomy and physiology.Shift: 4-10 hours per day M-F; 40 hours per week with rotation of weekends and call.Specialty Type: Diagnostic ImagingSub Specialties: CT Technologist, Radiologic TechnologistGeneral Certifications: N/A
