CT/X-Ray TechnologistThe CT/X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by radiologist governing and professional bodies. Essential functions include producing emergent and routine diagnostic images with fixed and portable X-ray. They also produce routine and emergent diagnostic images with CT Room.

They adjust exposure settings for proper image acquisition, adjust patient positioning in order to acquire the best images based on anatomical structures, and adjust table and radiation beam to minimize radiation exposure to maximum patient protection (ALARA). They process images in PACS for the Radiologist, complete exams per Radiologist protocols, document, charge, and process with electronic medical records, and schedule patients for appointments in X-ray, CT, MRI, US, DXA, and Holter Monitor. They inform and assist patients with contrast media administration for CT exams, are involved with quality control concerning equipment, radiation safety, and patient safety, ensure that exams are completed in timely and correct manner, and provide customer service to patients and staff.Minimum qualifications include a required credential of R.T.(R)(ARRT) and preferred experience of 1 year working as a CT technologist.

Technical skills demonstrate an adequate working knowledge of and clinical proficiency in radiographic procedures, principles of radiation physics, and human anatomy and physiology. Rotation of call and weekends.
