SUMMARY:nnUnder general supervision of the CT Manager, Lead CT Technologists, and the Imaging Coordinator according to established procedures, operates a CT scanner and related equipment in order to produce radiographs of any designated anatomical area. All essential functions performed in the position reflect age specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients. The core Success Factors include:nnInstill Trust and Value DifferencesnPatient and Community Focus and CollaboratennRESPONSIBILITIES:nnPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:nnPerform complex procedures in CT in a busy Radiology Department.nAssure quality resultsnTrain fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniquesnnAbout the Department:nnDepartment of five scanners both GE and SiemensnWork with state-of-the-art technology including use of GE Revolution Ascend , Ulrich CT Motion InjectornTeaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imagingnTeam environment with support staff assisting the technologist by transporting patients and performing ancillary dutiesnnnMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:nnBASIC KNOWLEDGE:nnMust hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.nMust be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).nMust hold a current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers.nTwo years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.nnEXPERIENCE:nSix months' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner.nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:nWork location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature.nExposed to radiation, but there is little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed.nLong periods of standing, along with walking, pushing potable equipment and lifting and positioning of patients is required.nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:nNone.
