Job Summary and Responsibilities:
- CT Tech performs a variety of technical procedures using computerized ionizing radiation to detect pathology. Responsibilities include:
- Operating CT equipment safely while maintaining A.L.A.R.A. (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards.
- Performing X-rays in the ER and department as needed, with proficiency in radiologic (X-ray) positioning.
- Participating in the establishment of scan protocols and executing specific applications.
- Administering contrast when necessary.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with staff, other departments, and medical personnel.
- Being available for on-call duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of CT experience required (acute care experience is not necessary).
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R) required; (CT) certification preferred.
- State Registered Radiologic Technologist.
- Vocational School Graduate.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
