CT Tech - 10hr Rotating Shift
The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform computed tomography procedures according to established protocols.
- Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
- Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and utilize power injectors adhering to department and manufacturer protocols.
- Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast based on physician orders and assess patients for potential risk factors.
- Interact effectively with patients and co-workers while displaying a high level of caring and respect.
- Communicate instructions and explain procedures clearly to patients to alleviate fears and enhance cooperation.
- Identify patients accurately using two patient identifiers and adhere to universal protocol during procedures.
- Document patient history and ensure all exams are coded, tracked, and properly networked for archiving.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with system-wide competencies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the initial registry acquisition.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- ARRT Certification and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) are required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 is necessary.
Schedule
Rotating shift, 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
